Under the section "==Early life==", the opening sentence reads "Jeter was born on June 26, 1974, in Pequannock Township, New Jersey, the son of accountant Dorothy (née Connors) and substance abuse counselor Sanderson Charles Jeter." Can you please add "Derek Sanderson" to open the sentence? FA Review needed

@Muboshgu: Thanks for flagging, Baseball-Reference was the main one I spotted some OR and all of those instances should be reviewed (stats databases have a tendency to be used for OR since they don't produce any secondary prose). Ultimately, it would probably help for all of the article's sources to be checked against the text since the article was promoted to FA 12 years ago, but that's not as urgent. Thanks for your response. B-Ref provides accurate statistics and some other information (awards and transactions mostly), but can be misused easily. I believe NY Post was cited before it was downgraded at RSP. I argue though that their sports coverage is pretty good. I would never cite them for US politics. Hi George Ho and Left guide. I did a run through of the citations to Jeter's B-Ref page. Here is my assessment of them, please let me know if you agree or disagree:

• He is the Yankees' all-time career leader in hits (3,465), doubles (544), games played (2,747), stolen bases (358), times on base (4,716), plate appearances (12,602) and at bats (11,195).[1]
  • Statistics are accurate, but his B-Ref page does not say he is the Yankees all-time leader in them. I will supplement this citation or replace it.
• Jeter batted .250[1]
  • Accurate and included in the B-Ref page. I'll switch the citation to this secondary source.
• Jeter batted .291, with 10 home runs, 70 RBIs, 116 runs, and 190 hits.[1]
  • Accurate, sourced by B-Ref. I can supplement with this source.
• That year, Jeter was selected for his first All-Star Game. In the regular season, he batted .324 with a league-leading 127 runs, 19 home runs, and 84 RBIs,[1]
  • Accurate, sourced by B-ref. I'll add this source to beef it up.
• Jeter led the AL in hits that season with 219, while finishing second in the league in batting average (.349) and runs scored (134), appearing in his second All-Star game that year.[1] His season totals in batting average, runs, hits, runs batted in, doubles (37), triples (9), home runs (24), SLG (.552), and OBP (.438) are all personal bests.[1] Jeter also drove in 102 runs.[1] In the postseason, Jeter batted .455 in the ALDS, .350 in the ALCS, and .353 in the World Series,[1]
  • I lumped all of these citations together because they are a mess and I will fix this paragraph. B-Ref does support all of this information, though.
• Jeter batted a team-best .339 in the 2000 regular season and added 15 home runs, 73 RBIs, 119 runs scored, and 22 stolen bases.[1][55]

• In 2001, Jeter batted .311 with 21 home runs, 74 RBIs, 110 runs scored, and 27 stolen bases, making his fourth All-Star appearance.[1]
  • Can be better written and sourced, I will find one for this.
• Jeter batted .297, with 18 home runs, 75 RBIs, 124 runs scored, 191 hits, and a career-best 32 stolen bases during the 2002 regular season. He led the majors in stolen base percentage (91.4%), getting caught only three times. He made his fifth All-Star appearance.[1]
  • Again, sourced to B-Ref, but secondary sourcing such as this can improve this sentence.
• Jeter made the All-Star team and finished the season with a .292 average; 23 home runs, the second-most of his career; 78 RBIs; 111 runs scored; and a career-best 44 doubles, which broke the Yankee single-season record for doubles by a shortstop, besting Tony Kubek's 38 in 1961.[1][76]
